Sustainability in my Backyard

The Challenge:

Develop a public and classroom interactive education program to increase the awareness of a unique environmental sustainability neighbourhood design.

The Background:

The City of Surrey, B.C. embarked on a ground breaking sustainable neighborhood development called East Clayton. In addition to experimenting with a variety of new neighbourhood design features, the City wanted to provide an education resource for local schools and the general public to better understand the design concepts.

The Solution:

We developed a website with 3 core components, an interactive rain and drainage simulator which compares a drainage scenarios with typical and sustainable neighbourhood design, a virtual walking tour of the neighbourhood, and a teacher resource package.
